Reap Benefit

By: Kanika Kakkar

Reap benefit is build on the highlighting and profiling by working with the students and staff to implement solutions to reduce the waste, water or energy footprint and reward them for it.

Reap Benefit is India's first website to highlight environmental initiatives by educational institutions.

They work in a three-pronged approach: To make green actions a habit among students, to empower students with practical knowledge of actions across energy, waste & water and to reward students for taking green action, ensuring continued positive action.  The idea is to measure sustainability and track schools or companies that increase their level of self sustainability and then again, reward the individuals who have contributed to the positive change.

Their activities include profiling educational institutions on environment sustainability in a scientific manner to break the information barrier, innovative student engagement programs using out of the box techniques, rewarding students for taking green actions to promote continuity and providing students opportunities in research, design, innovating solutions and communication.

The Kutumb Foundation

By: Kimberley Fernandes

The Kutumb Foundation was initiated by a group of young people who felt that there is an increasing need to develop a sense of community among urban displaced people belonging to lower income groups through the spread of education and to provide them with greater employment opportunities as well as better conditions of employment.

They felt the need for greater transparency in the NGO sector and better management practices in its functioning, and such practices must be developed through research into their existing ways of functioning; and, the corporate sector could and ought to be involved in social works, especially in the area of welfare programs for children, as an investment in our future.

In a short period of time Kutumb has tried to provide a platform for young people from the non-privileged sections of society to engage in conversations and express themselves through creative forms as diverse as football, painting and theatre. Aiming to provide holistic development, their events are a celebration of the spirit, innocence and vitality of children.

Peace Oath

Peace Oath is a Social Peace Movement initiated by enthusiastic youngsters aspiring to create a society embedded in peace. It is founded by Anil Shetty, a young social entrepreneur who ventured into the business arena at a tender age of 19.

Through Social Peace Movement, it is trying to initiate the process of peaceful co-existence in society, happier living for you and others around. As individuals, they desire happiness and peace in our lives, and Social Peace embodies these within its milieu.

In their own words, Peace Oath is only a means of committing oneself to making your life and the life of others around you a little more peaceful and joyous. Peace Oath is not the end goal, but it is the means of achieving that goal. The Oath is something personal, a commitment to oneself, and must not be a superficial, a one-time commitment only.
