Shanti Avedna Sadan

The Shanti Avedna Sadan,  a non-governmental voluntary organization, run by a Charitable Trust is India’s first Hospice, an institution that takes care of the advanced terminally ill Cancer patients. It is neither a hospital nor a home, but is in fact both, offering the specialized care of a hospital together with the love of a home.

The aims of the Institution are to care for the advanced and terminally ill Cancer patients and those cancer patients suffering from AIDs, to offer this care to all who need it, irrespective of community caste or creed, to give preference to the poor and needy and to conduct research for palliation in advanced Cancer.

The main Branch in Mumbai with the new extension can accommodate 100 inpatients whereas the branches in Delhi and Goa can accommodate 40 and 20 patients respectively.
