SPHOORTI FOUNDATION

SPHOORTI is a non-profit organization working for underprivilegedchildren - orphaned, abandoned, destitute and other vulnerable groups. Their mission is to change lives of such children - by providing them with long-term care. This includes basic needs, education and healthcare, and skills necessary to transform them into responsible citizens.

Through the involvement and support from several individuals, groups of individuals and non-profit organizations in India and abroad, Sphoorti Foundation works for the rehabilitation of children belonging to underprivileged and vulnerable sectionsof the society. They support 140 children; run Children's Homes in three different premises in BN Reddy Nagar near Cherlapally, Hyderabad.

Attending to the children's most basic needs constitutes a vital component of Sphoorti's work. Sphoorti does not compromise with the quality of care and support provided to its children. Once a child's material needs are satisfied, comprehensive rehabilitation requires that we restore a safe and secure childhood to the child. Giving children happiness, security, and a sense of belonging is as much a priority as their academic and professional development.

Journalist: Divenita

Nirman is functioning successfully since 1994. The Association has the main objective of rehabilitating those with mental disability by focusing on and developing their differential abilities and making them useful members of the Society.

Nirman Association is running a center for special education and vocational training cum production (Nirman) and a home for the handicapped (Sahavas), both located in Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) Township in Balanagar, Hyderabad.

A definite time is set aside for daily discussion where the special employees are encouraged to form an opinion on various subjects and activities, through group discussions, skits etc. They are also taught life skills, enabling them to be self-dependent, thus enhancing their acceptance among family members and outsiders.

Nirman Association has also started Sahavas, a Home for the mentally handicapped, in the vicinity of Nirman. Sahavas is sponsored by National Trust, Government of India and has the capacity to accommodate 20 youths.
